Default -Hello from a new member-

Hi all! Let's see: I live in Bangor, WA - active duty navy - I've been riding since I was 10 (dad taught me on his V-65 Magna, which I drove through high school, along with multiple dirt bikes) - just bought my first HD, a new 1200N. I am definately a daily rider, and so is my father. Dad owns a road king decked out for the road and a dyna low rider with a S&S 124" racing engine which posted a 10.93 in the quarter with his 300lb butt driving. We both can't wait to see what it posts with my much leaner butt in the saddle. He's been pushing me to get into HD for a while and I resisted until recently.

Suffice it to say I have had to accept that I was missing out and he was right. I love this sportster! He does give me a little crap that I didn't choose a big twin, (b/c it's a girls bike afterall) and his bike will smoke mine. But then I remind him he's not riding a HD anymore anyways, he's riding a S&S hehe.

So far I have put forward controls, SE air cleaner (hate the look of the cone, but couldn't find a larger surface area), and a thunderheader 2-1 all tuned with a PCV. Wife says I can't void the warranty, but when it's over I am doing some head work and bringing this bad boy to life. I've also stripped out the plastic and relocated my ignition/coils. All thanks to this forum which I have been reading but not participating. Until now. Thanks for all the good knowledge!

Oh, and I also homebrew a lot of beer. Lots. CHEERS!

Welcome from Canada's Capital!
Don't understand why you would need to be "pushed". If I could have afforded it, I would have bought one before. Honestly, I didn't care which brand it was. Riding a motorcycle was all that mattered. As long as you're comfortable in the saddle, that's all that matters.
That. And, homebrewing a LOT of beer (for after the ride, of course)

HOOYAH and thanks for the welcomes. Here's a newbie question: how do you change the little tagline under your user name in posts. "biker" is generic and lame, lol.

The title under your name is based on how many posts you have, the more you post you'll see it start to change. Unless you're an XL Forum Team Member (30 bucks) then you don't get as many ads and you can make your title whatever you want!
