Default Accelerator pump fuel sprays back out

Having issues with my carb, one of which is that my accelerator pump shoots a stream into the carb, but for some reason most of the fuel sprays back out, but like q cloud or must, rather than in a stream. I often noticed a strong fuel smell and noticed my air filter is often soaked in fuel.
I don't know if the stream is hitting the slide diaphragm or something, I just know I don't want to soak the new k&n in fuel and motor oil.
When I got my jet kit a few years back I did drill the hole out in the slide, so it could be that the diaphragm doesn't go up and down as it did before, but I don't know.
There isn't a way to adjust the flow from the accelerator pump, or the height it sprays from, if I could somehow lower it then I think it would spray below the diaphragm, but I don't think you can raise or lower the accelerator pump nozzle.
Planning on getting a new slide diaphragm that isn't drilled out to test that theory...
Also found an accelerator pump upgrade on jpcycles, wondering if anybody knows what the "upgrade" is? Don't know if upgrade means more fuel or what. Reviews on it were less than helpful too.

Here's the Sportsterpedia section on the CV40 Carb:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/techtalk:evo:carb02

Replace the slide... If you have other DynoJet parts in there, I suggest they be replaced as well...

The Accel Nozzle can be (carefully) rotated and pointed at the needle...

Thanks! My not so smart phone started loading the Linn you posted, in about 5 minutes I'll see what knowledge is there. I believe the only dynojet parts I have are the jets themselves. I believe I'm using the original emulsion tube, unsure of the needle, was the factory adjustable? The one I have in it has a clip so you can move it... Hopefully the page is done loading now. It takes easily 5 minutes to watch a 1 minute video, this phone sucks!
