NRHS Sales is an unknown quantity at this point

The actual air filter housing is a very restrictive piece along with the filter. Just changing the filter does not really make a big difference in performance.

Hey Dan can you help me to know exactly what all I need to order from there... I see where I can get the centered air cleaner but then it says I also need to get a separate bracket and there are other options like a breather kit etc...

If I get the centered air cleaner $209.95 and the black carburetor support bracket $10.65 will that be all that I really need?

geez air cleaner kits are expensive... the screaming eagle was $110.... but I've also heard they have a lot of problems

thanks

cory

The high performance filters have a different backing plate that allows air to come in all the way around the filter. If you do not change that part you may as well stay stock.

I think that Kentucky has put a stock replacement K&N in his modified stock airbox on his 1200. He drilled several holes in the backing plate to give it more air. I don't know how well it works but you might ask him. I would think that the Hurricane would work some better as it looks like the best a/c setup that I have seen but I don't know how much better it needs to flow on a stock 883 which will require quite a bit less air than a 1200. The replacement K&N stock replacement filter with a modified stock backing plate may be enough for an 883 and can be found for less than $50 including shipping. That being said, the Hurricane Flow sure seems like a fine product for maximum air flow and one hears nothing but good about it if you want the best that there is.

I have had the Screamin' Eagle on mine since about '98 never had any problem other the oil soak we've talked about elsewhere.
and you will have that with any of them including stock unless you correct the crank vents

Ya wow why so much money for an a/c?

Pipes made out of chrome aren't even double what an AC costs.

I was thinking v&h short shot staggereds + hurricane + some jet kit....but this would be about
$260 + $210 + ???? = > $600
