Arrow Latest Shindy / Daytona Steering Damper info:

FYI:

Don't know if I should have posted this in the suspension forum or not, but since steering dampers/stabilizers are more than likely used mostly by the Cafe Racer crowd, I thought I would post it here.

As many of you may know, the Storz steering damper is very expensive. Trak-Tek also sold a damper made in Japan by Daytona. Well, nobody has been able to contact Trak-Tek lately, so I did a little research on steering dampers/stabilizers manufactured by Daytona.

First of all, it can be found in the Custom Chrome catalog, but only the model up to year 03. Trak-Tek was selling a model for the 04 and later rubbermounts also, but the 04 and later unit is not in the latest Custom Chrome catalog.

Well, a company called Shindy Products here in the US is the importer of the Daytona steering dampers. They more than likely also supply the Daytona units to Custom Chrome.

Here is Shindy's website that shows these units: http://www.shindypro.com/catalog/eac...del.key15.html

As you can see, they show the steering stabilizer kits for [both] the 88-03 and the 04 and later Sportys.

For info on how to get either one of these stabilizers, here is Shindy's contact info:

Phone: (408) 946-7466
Fax: (408) 946-7450
E-mail: info@shindypro.com

Default Great Price!!

I just called Shindy. They sell the '04 and later kit for $204. That's a great deal in my book. Storz wants $360 I think. I still can't get a hold of Trak-Tek. I gave up on them.

I have the Daytona on my Sporty. I absolutely love it I "sniped" it on e-bay for $15!!! As it was listed for a Sporster instead of SporTster

I spoke with Shindy myself before I ordered from Storz, because of the new coil design for the EFI bikes they won't fit on the newer bikes, they are apparently working on a new mounting bracket .

I went with the Storz unit, which is expensive, but works very well !

GROUP BUY... I'm all for that,

Please PM me if someone sets up a group buy and you don't see me chime in. I have looked at the Storz's unit, nice but pricey
