Yes it is supposed to be covered by the ham can which is why I totally disagree with Grind's complaints about the finish. Plus his acting like an ass earlier in the thread didn't help his case in my eyes either.

No, the SE kit uses a cheaper paper type element which is way crappier than a K&N filter. There is a replacement K&N filter available to replace the SE element. I believe the part # is HD0900 but i'm not 100% certain on that.

If you didnt like the way it looked then put the ham can on it, problem solved....

I know if i wasnt happy with something I bought i would have just called the guy before i did anything else, if it was THat big of a deal then you should have given it back before you did anything to the product...not smart dude...
