Default Primary Leak

So, I have a primary leak that is not the gasket or drain plug. It is coming from somewhere on the backside of the primary. Put 1oz of dye (for AC testing) in the primary. Hopefully, I can find it. I read a thread about Mick trying to figure out a primary leak that resulted in splitting the cases. Christ, I hope it isnt that. Just venting, but if there is some wisdom that could be share that would save me a bunch of time, I am all ears.

Guess I should have mentioned the engine is a 79 with a generator. No stator.

looking at the manual it may be:
the kick starter shaft grommet ,clutch hub need to be removed for access
the starter housing gasket
the output sprocket shaft seal

Thanks for the input, guys. I was in the process of changing handlebars. Gotta swap back to the old ones for now, as the cables arent quite long enough. I will do that today and take it out for a spin. UV flashlight will highlight the dye I added. Hopefully, I can figure out the source. I will keep you posted.

Well, the AC dye did the trick. Nice fluorescent green trail leading right up to the kickstart shaft seal. Would post pics but it was impossible to hold the UV light, an inspection mirror, and a camera. Appreciate all the help. Time to tear into the primary. Let the games begin, lol!
