Here it is. Sorry, just got home. As you can see, it's fallen off.
I'm really careful aligning the rear wheel, made the tool to fit in the holes on swing arm.
Gonna take the wheel out now.

Also, I did about 50 miles at 70 and belt didn't come off. Looks pretty centered to me

that guard is there for a REASON!
scenario:
tooling down the freeway running 70 and all of a sudden the belt drifts to the left, once the edge hooks the belt, it will peel away, now the front pulley decides to pickup the slack bunching it between the cases and presto-whamo, destroys the tranny case.
if you do not have the alignment tool, make one, easy-peasy!

Looks the edge of the inner section is squished over the edge of the flange in spots, holding it in place.

Maybe you can re-squish it back together in some fresh spots? Or spot weld it?
Hope you didn't cut it yet.

Pulley in freezer for an hour, ring heated in oven at 260c for a while. Dropped right on, but cooked the paint off the ring.
It really feels solid, don't know how it came off. Maybe a stone jammed in there?
Anyway, gonna put a few screws in it anyway.
