The xl on the pic is an old pre 2000 - 2003
they would be feel some blame... many competitors made it... and have made enter on modernity their classic engime scheme... Guzzis, Ducs, Thriumps, BMWs etc.

Well,
I guess I'm just gonna go fart in the basement for a couple hours.
I feel like we all saw this coming anyway.

I'd much rather spend my money fully refurbishing a knuck, pan, shovel or ironhead than buy anything offered at an HD dealer today.

This will bite them in the ass big time. They even killed off the Softail Standard stripper Big Twin! Until recently there was a bike (Sportster), you didn't need to be a CEO or rock star built like Garth to be able to aford or pick up if it fell over. Showrooms full of 700 pound 1800cc bikes costing £16K aren't going to be affordable or manageable for many riders.

Corporate Weenies are now in charge. The days of the enthusiast/executive like Vaughn Beals and Willie G are over.

Seems that's part of their "premium/exclusive" strategy.

really, it died with the trap door.
the beauty of the hd existed in that it was a blank canvas, paint it to your liking.
totally no surprise it just surprises me it took this long. remember when you could go to a car dealer and order exactly what you want, now take it or lump it.
remember mr. hippy when you could drop the a/c out of a truck with 5 fasteners from under the hood, hardie-har-har, now most of the day job ripping out the seats, headliner, sound system and dash.
i would never buy a new sportster, and getting that way with the BT's. sure my 1974 fx was a slug in stock form but in a lot of ways more appealing. hate to say it but the 74 ch is going out the door and soon the 01 sport. no time anymore.
if cali gets its way, you will be flying on electrons instead of petrol.
