Red pepper is also good. Seriously

I worked sheetmetal for years. Fill a slice w/red pepper, no scar

7/11/15 had a heli ride. bad rash

After dilaudid shot got in the shower and scrubbed all the asphalt and crap out. Dr was amazed how it healed

Sorry to hear about that Steve.
Glad it wasn't worse.
Hope the healing goes well.

Hey Paul,

I''m fine! Might have got a rib also, happened at 12:45 PM today.

Didn't feel the rib until after the hospital.

I pulled my '03 up to the ER door at 12:48, Rode home at 2:30

Kinda kick/hand shifted home, a little morphine does wonders!

Got on my ironhead at 5:30 and got a pint of Ben and Jerry's-chocolate therapy

Was gonna give you some ice cream rep points but can’t right now. Ice cream is a great cure-all! Did have a greater tuberosity fracture at the top of the humerus, in conjunction with my slide, no surgery this time just a sling for six weeks. Tough riding with a sling on the right arm. No plates here so you’ve got me beat there. With the recent knee replacement both are now titanium. Right foot surgically modified,(25 years ago),to promote healing of stress fractures in the metatarsals. Left shoulder reconstructed,(4 years ago), with some screws, pins and cadaver parts. Left ankle was to have had 45 minute clean up out patient surgery,(15 years ago),as a result of an Achilles’ tendon tear, turned into 2 1/2 hours and kept over night. Ran out of time on the clean up, distal side was done, medial never got done. Back broken,(50 years ago), no treatment, now bone on bone L-4,L-5 and S-1. 9 years ago a deer came through the windshield on my old Blazer pinned the windshield to my face, A pillar broke his back and his rear half took out the drivers side window, mirror, cold cocked me, 30% vision loss left eye, lost 18 teeth. Other than those and a body full of arthritis I’m good to go.

Ha!
Ice cream do cure all.

It is funny looking back on all the surgeries. And still going strong!

Damn, Paul! I had no idea. You're doing really good despite it all! You wear it well.

Steve9, looks very painful, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Hope you heal up fast!

Deb, it is what it is, just deal with it daily, and each day is a gift. We’ll have to share some road again soon, we’ll maybe Springtime for you.

I've always found topically applied Vitamin E Oil to be a great help in healing such epidermal abrasions.

Keep it covered (bandages) until the healing begins (to prevent severe scabbing). Change bandages often and clean the would. Allow some air drying before reapplying Vitamin E & rebandaging.

Keeping it soft (moist) and supple will help to heal with minimal scarring.

Yeh,
vitamin E helps healing. Reduces scarring too (like I care about that)

Aloe Vera plant,,,,break off the stems n squeeze the juice onto the wound, road rash, burn whatever. Heals clean, no infection n adds some greenery to the shop.
