Default Grayson by Fox Creek

Picked up a Grayson jacket from Fox Creek a few weeks ago. Finally have had the time to try riding with it.

http://www.foxcreekleather.com/60-me...orcycle-jacket

This is the third jacket of this style I have owned. I like the straight collar and clean subdued style. One was an Excel (?) I had years ago (stolen), next was a Wilson branded, made in Pakistan, one and now the Made-In-Usa Fox Creek.

The Fox Creek is head and shoulders above the others for quality of both materials and workmanship. I was expecting a stiff as hell jacket needing weeks of break in. This is not the case. In fact it was supple enough out of the box that I thought "this thing feels too light". But it isn't. I think it is just better leather.
The full zip out liner has the normal attaching points and isn't too bulky. And it has a neat removable fleece type neck warming collar, but I have not needed to try it yet.
The arm and back vents work well to move air through the coat. It has the armour pockets, although I have not yet picked up any for it.
Zippers all work well and feel as though they will last.

On the bike, it doesn't feel like it is restricting my movements. Other than the loop on my helmet strap catching on the collar tab occasionally when I look left.

Only gripes I can come up with. Personally I would like the collar to be a bit taller. The zippers need some sort of tab on them so I dont have to take my gloves off to use them. And the leather is a bit shiny, but that will change over time I imagine. (My wife flipped when I took my new jacket and just threw it in the corner. Told her it was looking TOO new)

Customer service was excellent. received a call prior to shipping recommending a change in size based on the measurements I gave them. They were right on the money. Saved me and them the hassle of a returned for exchange situation.

Do I recommend the company and the coat. Yes on both counts.

I've got two Fox Creek Leather Jackets. They do top quality leather. I've never had a better made leather jacket.

That happens with my HD FXRG jacket as well. Annoying as hell. It's more of a fault of the lengthy helmet strap than the jacket collar though, I think.

No doubt. didn't mean for it to sound like I was blaming the jacket

I've got the FCL "Commander". Great jacket and I can't see using anyone but FCL. If I were to get another, the "Grayson" would be the one.
Wear it in good health.
