Tough call on the brakes. There are complete kits but you can buy a running bike for what they cost. Buell also offered an optional dual disc set up but they are very rare and also bring crazy money.

The Gsxr fork is not a bad solution but not the only one. The wheels are already tapped for a left side rotor and the lug is already on the leg for a caliper, but the caliper needed requires an odd offset and I am not aware of one that works.

If you make an adapter bracket you can mount any caliper to the left side and use a stock rotor over there. That is the simplest solution, but you need to be able to make the adapter. Steve

I had thought about putting another disk on the other side and maybe adapting hayabusa six piston calipers and master cylinder to the buell forks. I think it would stop good then.

I think it would also. The oem Buell rotors are bigger than most anything on the market. The Suzuki six piston calipers can be made to work, but they do require an adapter bracket to work. If you come up with something that works let me know. I'd buy a set of adapters. If you make two sets or more and sell the extras, it will help subsidize the cost of yours. Guys have made them in the past but I have not seen any for sale in ages.

I have no doubt there is a market for adapters to allow the use of plentiful and cheap Suzuki calipers to be used in a dual disc conversion.

I will tell you what when I make a set I will make two and give you a set. I'm a machinest so its not to hard for me. First thing is getting the motor running again. Then a shock then brakes. If any body out there has any pro thunder tuber racing footage please post it or point me in the right direction.

Hey Blaine I sent you a pm.

That caliper looks like a six piston Nissan. The Suzukis often used tokikos spelling could be wrong on that but some of them used Nissans which also is what came on the later tube framed Buells like your X1. The difference is that the Buell oem caliper is speced with different spacing and that is why the bracket is needed.

The Nissans were also oem on some of the MV Agustas. They are a good caliper. Steve
