Default Led upgrade 1200S

Hi there.
I have recently aquired a set of fatboy 2018 led combination tail lights. Now, my question is ..... can i do a diy install with these 4 wire lights and add a ceramic resistor for flash speed and make it work as run/stop turn lights and delete the original stop tail or do i have to run a badlands/kuryakn type module.
All googling leads to a module but you never know what experts are lurking on here.

If anyone can assist i will be grateful

Not sure of your laws, but here, the brake lights MUST BE RED LENSE... Is that a sealed unit or can you change the lense?

International Four Wire Lights? It looks like this is the wire color scheme:
White - Running Light
Green - Turn Signal
Red - Stop Light
Black - Ground
(each light is activated with power & has common ground)


Your HDI 1200S wiring should be:
Orange/White - Running Light (in taillight) (US is BLUE)
Violet -or- Brown - Turn Signal (L/R)
Red/Yellow - Stop Light
Black - Ground

Hi Ixl2relax
It looks to he a sealed unit. And the smaller round lamp in there looks tinted red. I will power it up and have a look. As these were of a nz bike im picking they suit our laws.
I have also heard back from a couple of suppliers regarding control modules..
Nz harley says i need a full controller from badlands but custom dynamics think as they are a 4 wire unit i only need a smart load resistor to slow flash rate and retain auto cancel signal lights function..
I will start with that cheaper option first and do some testing.
I will buy some ceramic wire wound resistors from an electronics store and have a play

Yes - Load Resistors should satisfy the Turn Signal Module...

I will give it a shot and see what happens. I believe it might interfere with the self cancel function but ya never know until you try.
