You polarize it by jumping the A terminal to the battery (output) terminal.

Per their manual.

The DGV 5000 CE generator with Reg on the end is what I’m talking about. You can’t polarize it without pulling the reg off.
Which is a moot point in this case as you won’t be using that model.
