Default HD 1200 conversion ring gap

Hi

I purchased the HD 883 to 1200 kit but am having trouble with the ring end gap. The top rings need to be ground down so I’m not worried about those. The second ring however is way too out of spec on the larger side. I’m sitting at 0.023” the manual suggest max 0.020”

Would this still be acceptable?

Where did you purchase the kit? Have you contacted them? A ring gap beyond spec to begin with won't get smaller. Perhaps the vendor can provide another ring set?

John

Was Harley themselves here in the UK. Spoke to them and was told they don’t really measure the end gaps they just install the kits as is.

This just sounds crazy since the top ring was butting up with no gap in both cylinders.
