I stopped (discontinued) my regular TV ten years ago due to more advertising than desired content. TOO MUCH ADVERTISING, and it looks like this forum will go the same way.

The new advertising windows block out too much desired content. Xing out the undesired content (advertising) just causes more advertising to appear. This is unacceptable. I hope you are getting rich from your new advertising forum because you will lose recreational viewers who previously participated in your motorcycle forum. Just my 2cents.

Dude, it's good vent.
But I can save you all that trouble and anguish you are having to put up with by telling you to BUY a subscription to this forum.
It is $20 a year for Christ sake.... less than 3 packs of smokes.
All advertising goes away one you become a member.
BTW, the Sportsterpedia has no adds. Take a gander over the reference information.
There is enough information there to keep you busy until the next time you have to pay the annual fee.

edit:
I'll add that all the information in the Sportsterpedia, every page, every sentence, every word, was added without any of us receiving any pay... not 1 cent.
We give to each other, free of charge.
But the internet is not so forgiving to allow this forum to host both the XLF and the Sportsterpedia for free.
Someone has to pay something or you'd be staring at a blank page right now.
My 2 cents.

I was right..... It is good to vent.

I don't think the advertisement is about getting rich, it's there to pay the cost in keeping this forum up. Like Hippysmack said. Just 20 bucks for a year to help to keep this forum alive and loose the annoying advertisement you encounter. The info you can find on this forum and Sportsterpedia is priceless

I'm 74 and I don't do pal-palsey or auto-renewsy. Who do I send my check to?

Looks like the owner of this forum doesn't do checks.
From the link I gave you:

All subscriptions are via PayPal and are AUTO-RENEWING meaning that once you have set it up it will automatically renew until you cancel it in PayPal or contact me to cancel it. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use the PayPal subcription feature. You will receive and email reminding you that a renew payment is going to be made. If you don't want the auto-renew you can just cancel the subscription immediately after subscribing.

Congratulations for making 74 years.
My hat's off to you sir.
But it is the year 2020 and I'm wondering just how much longer the laundromat will accept my quarters.

If the owner doesn't do checks, then he doesn't get my business. It's that simple.

Yes, it's 2020 and just because the millennials wear their caps backwards, it doesn't dictate how I wear mine.
