Default fork oil

2007 883 stock, 10K miles

I plan to pull front end apart, to recheck wheel bearings, and to lube and check steering head bearings.

Would this work > turn fork upside down. Measure oil that comes out. Replace with same qty of new fork oil.

Will do no other work, seals aren't leaking.

Could do, but i would refill with the amount as spec'd for your forks.
Don't forget to wash/flush out a few times.

Is there a common fork oil you can use, or do y'all use the H.D. fork oil? I think the O.M. says type E maybe.

If anyone knows, what the heck is fork oil anyway, how is it different?

HD Type E is similar in viscosity and additives to a Dextron III transmission fluid.
