Default Clutch ramp outer

Hi, working on my friends 1984 XLS, and the clutch ramp outer is broken where the nipple attaches. Parts manual gives the part number as 25409-84A, but checking that part online, it's slightly different to the broken one.
The broken one.

The online one.

Will this one work?
Many thanks Harry

It looks like an upgraded version that would eliminate the little cap that snaps over the end where the cable goes on the old one.

84 is a changeover year for the clutch! There are early and late style.

L 84 the clutch changed to a pull style.
This is the alternator type that continues on in the 4 speed EVO's
Your cover (in the pic) matches the late style as it has the 3 bolt retainer.
If you have the late style, the part # is 25409-84A

That part pictured may be a big twin part, the 25403-84 is not a valid part # according to google.

If yours is not an alternator model you have the wrong cover and I doubt the earlier 37202-71A will fit

It's a late model XLS, with alternator.
The picture with the bogus number part is from ebay.

There is no 82.5

That happened in 84

The 3 bolt retainer is for the late 84 style pull release

There was a Clutch basket change in 81 (for the new starter?)

The 37202-71A ramp dealie was used in all models through E84.

so I said 82.5 but really it is called the xlx model and that was a design change for the 83-84 model year. i was really only mentioning the production date.
- just to clear up my post. sorry for confusion.
