Well, did about 150 miles so far today, about half in rain. Interesting tracking with the voltmeter. Started out with 13.1-13.2 at idle jumping to 14.5 as you cross 2,000 r.p.m., I can live with that. Something odd though as the day developed, I was seeing 14.7 cruising and got to thinking that the slight bump up in charge may be attributable to fully charging the battery before departing, then as I ran longer I was deleting more power and it required a bit more charging to keep up? Time will tell. I did see a dip down to 11.4 when starting with it immediately returning to normal when running, pleased.

Sounds like it is charging normally. Now if none of the bolts/nuts do not back out again, you should be good to go. At least with a visual voltage regulator you will know if it stops charging.

This is what should happen, even with a fully charged battery - the battery will lose a bit of charge when starting the bike - the regulator will begin to bring the level back up - when fully charged, yoiu may see the peak charging voltage (but it is likely supplying very little current at that level - keeping the battery fully charged up & also supplying what is need by the rest of the electrical system)...

Sounds good to me... Glad you're back in the wind...

Out riding this morning - before the temp got to 92°...

I enjoyed riding this morning - lots of back roads like this:

I eventually rode to Gettysburg - This is the Longstreet Tower...
These Scoot Coupes came by like little ducks in a row...

Along Confederate Avenue is the Confederate Soldiers & Sailors Monument

The rest of the story is at My Motorcycle Chronicles.

Thanks...

There was another very cool view that I missed... Because the entire sunset takes place in just a few minutes, every thing changes in just a matter of seconds - I could not find the right place to stop in time to capture that earlier cool view...

Getting Back To Normal

Middle of last week I had cataract surgery to replace my foggy left eye lens. Given the choice of a far, medium or short-sighted replacement lens, I chose the far-sighted version. I've worn glasses since I was 13 for near-sightedness and I want to be able to ride and play sports without my glasses (I always ride with a helmet and face shield)...

So, I haven't been on KT for the better part of a week. I'm now getting clarity back in the new eye and trying to coordinate them together. I removed the left lens from my glasses because that eye can now see far but I still need my right lens to correct the near-sighted right eye. I'm going to get a blank lens to fill the left empty frame...

So - hopefully in a couple days I'll be back riding - Just in time for this nice fall weather we're having...
