I suppose aftermarket parts will still be available. Remember, the evo engine is what saved the motor company from bankruptcy.

In a worse case scenario where I feel that the 2020 model is no longer the Sportster I want, there's always hope:

My current bike is now 27 years of age. When they change the 2020 model too much, there's always the 2019 model. When the 2019 model is 27 years old it will be 2046. I will be 83 (when I keep breathing of course)...So there's hope!

Government regulations (EPA and DOT) are driving much of the design and use of motorcycles. The Motor Company has no choice. But with adversity comes opportunity. Just like when you ride, don't focus on the crap in the road, focus on where you're going and you can negotiate around it.

The motorcycle magazine writers say the Sportster has lots of competition. After riding them you know that none of them are Harley Davidsons. I expect/hope that the unique Harley riding experience will translate into the new line of motorcycles. My Dyna Big Twin was a great bike (hot but great). The Milwaukee Eight is supposed to be a great motor. It's not unreasonable to expect the next generationSportster or Steetfighter/ Bareknuckles to be a worthy replacement for the Evo Sportster
