Sorry for the late follow up... I got sick and then was away for a few days.
Basically, all I did was tighten up the ignition cam bolt (skinny bolt with large head) and I set the air/fuel mixture screw to 1.5 turns. Bike starts first kick with the choke on and rides pretty good. I have drag pipes because those were the only ones I could buy online so it has the typical dead spot but it rides super smooth.
I do have one issue, but I'll start a new thread...
