Mids
More than once I had to stand or lean on the pegs for control on sand, mud, deep water, hail, tracks. Fowards hurt my back

Likewise. There is a deep spot in the road on the way back to my house that if I hit it fast enough, it knocks the wind out of me. Just before I hit it, I gently take most of the weight off my rear by standing on my mid's and no more problem. My sciatica has not returned since I switched back to a bike with mid-controls. Love 'em!!!!

Searching for the brackets to switch my bobber back to mids, I am hating the forwards on this thing.

Mids are the best for a real comfortable ride, unless you're over 6' then maybe you need a bigger bike (with mids).

Mids for sure, with forwards you can cut corners or lean your bike too much.

For me mids are for comfort. I used to ride bikes with forward controls and highway bars that had my legs stretched out straight. Now I have knee and hip joint problems, and my legs need more support. I could still use forward controls if there was some kind of support right about under my knees. But having my legs straight and completely unsupported gets painful in a hurry. However, there is one thing that's even worse, and that is the extreme rearsets on crotch rockets. I have never owned a crotch rocket, just not my kind of thing. But a friend talked me into riding his several years ago, a GSXR600. I rode it about 10 miles, and decided to pull into as parking lot, turn around and go back. I had a terrible time getting my feet off the pegs, and when I finally did, I found my legs were completely numb. I rode around in first gear for several minutes with my feet almost touching the ground until the feeling returned. I called the guy and told him he had to come and get the bike because there was no way I was riding it back.
