Default Drilling stock baffle vs aftermarket

I inspected an aftermarket pipe, V&H straight slashcut 3" and it looked to me like it's straight through with only the baffle giving resistance so to speak. The baffle is a metal insert with lots of holes and some wrapping material. How much of a power difference would there be if I just drilled the stock baffle with lots of small holes say 1/8" or 1/4" compared to the aftermarket pipe? I've seen the Hammer performance charts here and although there is a stock graph, I can't find any comparisons of drilled stock pipes.

Much appreciated,
TonyPolony

I don't think anyone has tested the "Gronk Mod" on a dyno, yet. It's done by removing the baffle from the stock muffler & drilling out the existing holes and maybe adding additional holes in the baffle & replacing them in the mufflers. It definitely adds a deeper tone to the sound. I've done this to my '09 1200 & I think that the fact that the bike will reach 120 mph indicated on the stock speedo, that there is probly some increase in HP gained by doing so. Bike also has an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner & X14IEDs. My wife's bone stock '09 1200 tops out at 115 mph, just as a comparison. Hope this helps.

You have a catalystic converter in your pipe, the best is to gut them, buy Cycle Shack baffle and enjoy. You will have a similar exhaust that perform like an old screamin chicken's one.

On both 2002 and 2003 California bikes with catalytic converters, a 1/2" hole down the center (need 8" long drill bit) provided a sound very close to the 49 state legal H-D Torque mufflers of that era.
XLH883 would do about 103 MPH and 1200S I never top ended in 5th, but it pulled to 110 MPH in 4th very quick. Top end was probably between 120 and 125 MPH in 5th.
