Default 883 sportster trike

How many of you have a 883 sportster with a Frankenstein trike kit on it.
1. does it have enough power to cruise at 70 to 75 mph
2. what is the gas mileage
3. do you ride two up or solo
4. any problems at all
The reason I ask is I have a 2006 883 and will be putting on a Frankenstein kit this winter. I don't want to spend the extra money on a 12oo conversion if the 883 will work . I am not a hot rodder but want enough power to cruise on the highway
Thanks
Doc

How much weight is the trike conversion going to add? If it's around 250lb-300lb it would feel/accelerate/stop the same with that heavy of a passenger on it.

There were few replies to Martin's February thread.

http://xlforum.net/forums/showthread...kenstein+trike

One of the replies was for 1200cc, including MPG.

In addition to the weight, which I did not find on the Frankenstein site, there is more rolling resistance for the differential and two wide tires.

Although I would be well content today with an 883 for canyon riding, I would expect it to be not as satisfactory for a trike.

Forum member graywolf has put something like 200k miles on a Frankenstein trike. It’s listed as an 883-1200 conversion. I’d consider him the expert. Maybe he will chime in, or you could PM.

Good.
What was his input on 883 vs 1200?
