Welcome to the forum. Nice story, very nice bike!
I would keep it in the family and ride it, enjoy it. If I see something like this I'm always afraid these things are sold to persons who wil 'modify' it and make it 'better!' and make it more 'classic!' or 'old school!'....for instance by hacksawing frames, welding shit on it and...etc....anyway, ruin a completely perfect bike with a great story. Don't let this happen, the Gods of Motorcycles will haunt you to eternity.

I've been running the carb dry at the end of riding season for a couple of years now due to the garbage they call gasoline at the pumps nowadays.after reading Rick's post i'm making that permanent routine now.

I give way too many secrets here, please don't listen to them, someone's got to pay my rent!

That is standard procedure when were loadng dirtbikes on the trailer after every ride. You never know what may come up whre it causes them to sit dormant for a bit. Fuel off when approaching truck and run em out while strapping them down. Saves a bit of carb cleanouts
