Here's Ronnie's parts diagram:

but it doesn't look like they have many parts...

I guess you could ask your local dealer to search other dealers for the parts, hit some swap meets or wreck dealers, or check out eBay for replacement motors or parts...

Most guys on the XLForum upgrade to the All Balls 1.4kW starters... (search some threads for their reviews)

Thanks for all the assistance, I went ahead and ordered a Protorque 1.4kw, it isn't as amazing as the All Balls but seems to very solid. At the very least I got to learn about the inner workings of a starter. I might slowly rebuild the old one as a backup.
