I was out riding in sourthern York County - rolling hills with lotsa twists & turns. The temperature was 62° and there was a light breeze.

I eventually made my way over to the Susquehanna River and rode along the shoreline below Long Level to the end of the road.

In the far distance of this picture is the dam at Safe Harbor - that little white line between the two mountains.

I enjoyed the brisk temps and the bright sunshine. It was another fine day to be on two wheels getting some KooL Therapy!

Another Ride in September - It warmed up to a nice mid-70's temperature. I was riding with my brother as we headed west to Hustontown to ride north on Rt655 & Rt994.

This is an old iron trestle bridge. The railway was abandoned years ago,
but the bridge to nowhere from nowhere is still here
to remind us of the golden era of trains.

Likewise, old, are some of the covered bridges that are still standing.
This is the Ramp Covered Bridge near Newburg, PA.
It is closed. For renovations, I hope.

We had a good ride for about 175 miles of curvy mountain roads.

Here's a picture from my last ride (from my video camera).

We happened upon this Amish family out in their buggy.

As we waited for traffic to clear, I was waving at the little girl in the back of the buckboard. After hesitating for quite awhile, she did wave back.

Finally, we had a clear path to pass safely and we did so while trying not to spook the horse.

I was on another ride for about 100-miles. While the temps were in the upper 60's, there was a threat of rain and some dark clouds flowing past. Still, it was a good day to be on two wheels. I enjoyed Furnace Road and then rode along the Susquehanna River.

This is the Rt30 bridge across the Susquehanna River, near Wrightsville & Columbia.
It carries a significant amount of traffic going east and west. Today, it was down to one lane &
you can see the many tractor-trailers backed up while heading in the west-bound direction.

I found a nice spot to stop for another picture of the river.
This location is on Gut Rd near Saginaw, north of Wrightsville.

See My Motorcycle Chronicles for more pictures of what I saw on this ride.

I was riding with my brother. The October day was overcast with the initial temp around 56 but warming up to the mid-70's for the afternoon.

We stopped at Wrightsville to warm a bit in the sun. I took this picture looking south. The Rt462 bridge is just beautiful.

We were travelling south on River Rd in Lancaster County. We stopped to stretch our legs at the Muddy Creek Reservoir Pumping Station.

Our destination was the Conowingo Dam where we hoped to see some Bald Eagles. There were only a few spotted but we got to see these two on the nearby island.

.

However, we did get to see the Largest Bald Eagle to ever visit the Conowingo Dam!

.

.

.

.

.

At the Visitor's Center . . . . .

We rode about 175-miles and enjoyed the day, despite the overcast skies.

I was riding in mid-October in the area of Hanover. It was a warm day, in the mid-70's, with very little breeze. I rode with my leather jacket open to let some air flow thru.

I stopped for this picture of a nearly-ready-to-harvest soybean field, with the farm in the near background. Just beautiful!

I meandered around the back roads as I made my way to Codorus State Park. I'm not sure what kind of Autumn Leaf show we'll get his year. It's been dry and the recent bit of rain we received came with windy conditions.

It seems that many of the leaves have been blown off the trees already and that may minimize the color display.

It was another great day of enjoying the wind while rolling around the countryside on two wheels. It was fun getting pushed deep into the seat on a tight corner and hanging on to the bars when wacking the throttle.

Ken, thanks for sharing. Caught up in a bunch of stuff and unable to get out, color me envious.
