I put almost 20,000 miles on my 2006 Sportster and 9,000 miles on my 2007 Sportster this year alone. And my 2006 Sportster has 260,000 miles on it.

I also have a 1996 Heritage Softail but did not ride it much this year.

Sure you will need to replace the wear items as noted. Do the scheduled maintenance on your bike and you will be fine.

I disregard the opinions of non-mechanics. They should stay in their lane but don't know enough to shut their pie holes. Mileage and condition are relevant when evaluating vehicles. Batteries are consumable items like tires, hoses etc.

Helpless people should buy everything new as it's good for the economy. They have their place in the food but they bore me so I don't hang out with them.

Did I miss something, what is a 2018 Triumph Kawasaki? Sounds like you have a newer bike or 2 in the garage, so now you have something to tinker with. But, if your brother is offering to buy you a newer bike, no reason to turn that down.

Do you have 2 2005 Sportsters?

The needed repairs/maintenance will still be less than a monthly payment and full coverage insurance.
