So, I'm about to experiment with this . . .I've got a 7V lithium battery vest on my Santa order list. These are the battery pack models; not the 12v plug ins.

All of my 6V bikes kick out 6.7-6.8v at speed. The amperage is low; but . . . I want to measure the actual wattage draw of the 7v vest.

If I'm right; the wattage need will be similar to a low powered head lamp. So, the system will just be able to keep up with it in day light hours. I may wind up tossing in a small 7v battery in the spares kit just in case I do run the system battery down too far to fire the coil. That would at least get me home.

More to come . . . but not until early February -- and that's only if the roads have ZERO salt on them. I don't mind crusting up my winter bike; but I'd hate to kill the "nice" bikes' alloy bits with the halite craptastic stuff they use in Illinois. I swear that stuff will corrode anything it touches in a way that didn't happen 30 years ago.
