The 30 tooth Evo Ind aluminium crank sprocket changes the primary ratio from 1.6:1 (35/56) to 1.86:1 (30/56). I also have a 57 tooth clutch basket to get 1.90:1... Close enough to 2.0...

Here is the how to on cleaning up the shift drum and arms.

Here is the damage that the sharp edges cause in the arms.


Here is the untouched drum. Notice the hard edge on the channel.



Here is the arm after a quick clean up of the leading edge of the drum hole. You want to do this all the way around on both sides of all 3 arms.



Here is the angle you want to relieve the edge at.



Here is the angle you want to relieve all of the arm pathway on the drum at. You need to use a rotary file for hardened steel in a drill or die grinder for this.



Its a 40 minute job after you disassemble your trans... You will probably want to purchase and install the 2000+ shift detent as well since you already have it apart... Here is the old style for reference. The new style has deeper petals.

We also grind the edge of the drum and channel the pin rides in to help keep a burr from forming. Good info cyco, these things can take a beating if you keep after em.

It cost me 1800+ to learn that... But the extra work done to the gears was over 1200 of that. I would get the extra work done every time with as easy as it shifts now. With that extra work i dont need a $400 magic box on mine, i use about $7 dollars in relays for my shift kill
