Triple tree cover question
I have this bolt on my triple tree head bearing.
I bought this cover 45668-90
The threaded stud does not allow it to fit, clearly the wrong part.
Does anyone know if there is a correct part number for the cap for my bike, 1995 EVO 883? Or did it just never had one?

You have the wrong bolt in there. The correct bolt has a threaded hole in the center of the head for the stud on the chrome cap.

I'm not sure I have the wrong bolt. I now understand my parts manual calls for a 4460 bolt for the 883, non-tapped. And the 4453 tapped bolt for the 1200. Didn't catch that at first. Odd they would do that. Now I need to pay $30 for a freaking bolt. Fkn MoCo.
edit: I found an aftermarket option for half that. But still. A bolt.

Steering stem bolts. one for the custom as it has an exposed area. the other bikes did not come with that are exposed (well not as visible.) you either got the kit with the new steering stem bolt or you got a chrome cap to glue onto the old bolt.

There seems to be these differences between 883 and 1200 models. I guess HD wanted you to get the 1200 and not the 883.
On my bike HD have changed that bolt to a torx type so no threaded hole.

Dremel and double side tape, 1$.
0.50$ for the cutting disk and the rest for glue.
Dollar General sell watch that fit that hole perfectly if you want to add more bling.

Why can't I ever find a way to delete a duplicate post?
