Default Compensator nut.

I just happened to think of it, when I replaced my plates yesterday I had to remove the basket to deburr the groove made from the spring plate. I removed both the compensator and the basket, but I did not have the proper tool to stop them from rotating, I used my leather pants belt in a pinch, it worked wel.

When reinstalling everything I torqued the (compensator nut?) to 200 using the leather belt to hold things still, do you think this affected the torque since I had to essentially roll it a bit to hold fast. After much consideration I believe it’s the same torque on the nut regardless. Also in hindsight I forgot to put red loctite on that little joker. Should I bother redoing it with the tool and loctite? I have to take the bike for a ride today. Let’s see how that goes

Okay so the compensator nut isn’t my main concern since I am going to go over everything again.

I have some vibration at certain RPMs, going to pull everything and replace the hub bearing for starters. I will inspect other bearings... any suggestions while I am in there? If anyone could list for me what bearings are in there that would help me out greatly. Any other suggestions what I should replace as preventative maintenance? I ride this bike very hard, I need to take care of it.

I'd check the front motor mount stabilizer link, the engine bracket likes to loosen up after running hard.

Thanks, loads of help. I checked to see if the torx bolts were loose on the two motor mounts but couldn’t get any of them to move, maybe they’re bad internally and I won’t know until I pull them off?

Check where the bracket bolts directly to the front cyl. That's where mine has come loose a few times. Easiest way to check the stabilizer link is to use a floor jack and jack the engine up on the front lower mount, to see how much movement hte link has.
