Question CV carb inlet fittings. Straight?

Hi, I made up a stainless bracket to mount a custom fuel filter to under my air cleaner on my Evo XL motor. Problem is with the 90 degree CV inlet fitting when the gas tank is half empty the line seems to develop an air lock.
My CV carb has the fitting pointing upwards.

Does anyone know if a "straight" CV carb fule inlet is available?

If you have the stock 90 degree (plastic) inlet you could crack the plastic part (carefully), remove the plastic and you will be left with a straight inlet fitting to your CV carb. There will be just enough room left on the end of the inlet to attach a fuel hose with a ss hose clamp. you could also use a an appropriate size tie strap instead of the hose clamp 'cause it's just a bit short for the hose clamp, however you can make the hose clamp work. I speak from experience.

Thanks for the reply and advice opaka, guess I better get onto the stock plastic elbow with some pliers and give it a go then. Really want to get my filter set up back on the bike. Cheers Dave

Thumbs up It worked, filter re-fitted and not starving.

Carefully "cracked off" the stock CV plastic elbow today with pliers then re-fitted the in line fuel filter, so far so good, no leaks and no tank air lock yet.
Also re-fitted the stock CV slide spring which got rid of the lean out cough the engine has been suffering from after installing a new CVP race spring.
My carb has 45 slow, 190 main and a N65C needle fitted. Cannot beat the engine now even when twisting the throttle hard. Will see out on the road how it runs.

Thanks for the advice opaka lips.
