Power house plus ignition module
I recently bought a power house plus ignition module pretty sure it is like the zipper thunderbolts and ither ignition module. I have a 73 xlh dual fire 5 ohm coil pack so I set it to use number 1 street curve with 9 advance slope. I read you need 3 ohm coil to run race curves don't know if there is any truth to that. I timed the engine by setting race advance mode 4 and advance slope 9. Ground the voes wire.holding a rev at 2000 rpm. Btdc line held steady in the hole. Can I use my 5 ohm coil for race advance mode? If not do I have to retime my engine to street 1 mode? Dennis kirk got the pdf instructions.

Here is the install/setup instructions for the power house plus ignition module, found with a Google search...
https://www.denniskirk.com/dk/pdf/in.../dk2010857.pdf
Is this the model that you have?
Step 8 page 3 tells how to hook up your 5 ohm coil.
You need to have the correct timing rotor, bottom right page 2.
How did you decide on "race advance mode 4 and advance slope 9". Others here will have to advise you on that choice and on your engine timing procedure.

Yes that is the model I have. Page 6 is for the Precise timing procedure is what I followed.
I am using race advance mode 1 with advance slope 9. But that only brings my timing to 30 degree btdc instead of 40 degrees I think.. So I didn't know if I had to time it to the other curve a little confused. If I were to use advance mode 4 and advances slope 9 that would be my 40 btdc due to the precise timing but I thought you need a 3 ohms coil for the race advance curves.

I am not familiar with that ignition module, and have very little experience with choosing advance curves, so I do not know the answer to your questions. Someone else will have to chime in here
