An engine pulling a really tall gear at high speed will pick up slightly from 1-2° retard.

Take a look at the chart I produced again

Green is Spark Advance.

You can see it does change. Green is spark advance changing as I turn the FIRST DIAL. This was done without moving the throttle. The Big jumps are where I have gone from 9 to 0 or the other way

I actually swapped the the TC88A this morning, and put the OEM Factory 883 unit ( Dealer Flashed to 1200SE) ignition module back in this morning.

Buggger all difference in the ride, sound or feel of the bike between the OEM, the TC88A Race or TC88A Ex

Since your "engine builder" trashed your cylinder heads you probably want timing more like and an 883. Full hemispherical combustion chamber timing. Quite a bit different than what you'd want if he had left a squish band like we were (incorrectly) assuming.

I actually spoke to Dan @ Hammer about this, and he looked at photos and thought I was overly worried about it. He said that there was still squish band left there, and I was probably being over critical, and they were not ‘worried’ about it being done as it had been.

Without a Dyno and days of testing, guess I’ll never know now, which is a real *%*$*, as taking it away to U.K. to someone with the facilities was done, to not have this situation that I have now any way
