Default Polish Solid Rear Wheel?

I know I can chrome it, but I can get a set of custom wheels for what that would cost. I was wondering if anybody has tried to really polish their solid rear wheel out to make it shinier?? Is there a way? With what, and just how f'n hard was it?

It's got a pretty rough texture. You'd have to machine or blast the surface before polishing it. Could end up being as pricey as having it chromed.

It would look cool but imagine how hard it would be to keep polished

It's pretty hard to get up in there just to clean. I would imagine that to keep it looking good you would need to remove the wheel periodically just to buff it up. I like riding more than polishing. Just something to think about...

Damn good point. I have a big ass tree climber sprocket, and my bike is lowered so far you can hardly see it anyways. I'm anal and like things to be perfect though, that's why I asked.
