Default Bar vibration

By pure luck i might have found the cause/cure for bar vibrations.

I used to have horrible vibes on the clutch lever side that sent my fingers numb within 20-30 mins, but they disappeared ages ago, and i thought i had by chance tightened something up that got rid of them.

Out today and the vibes were back as bad as ever, so thought about what i had done since the last ride that could cause the change.
Only thing i could think of was a slight re-routing of the clutch cable from behind the top yoke to the side/front.
As i was riding i pulled the cable back to behind the yoke and the vibes disappeared instantly.

It seems the vibes are coming up through the cable and these are being absorbed by the yoke before getting to the lever.

If you have finger numbing vibes, it just might be worth a try.

Interesting. Anything that transmits vibration can be an issue. I hadn’t thought about cables. Thanks for sharing.

Never thought of that. The clutch cable is thick enough to transfer vibrations from the engine to the handlebar obviously. Maybe it's even more noticeable on a rubber mounted engine(?).
