Take a multimeter (voltage tester), pull the headlight, check the voltage to ground with the power running though the light switch, you should have battery voltage at the low beam socket with the switch in the low beam position, voltage at the high beam socket with the switch in the hight beam position. and no voltage with the switch off. Hope that helps.

Haha, no I meant we don't know what the wiring is like on your bike, only that it's 'custom'. So if you are going to add something, what are you adding it to?

Your switch will work, but not for long if the high beam is more than 70w.

Oh okay hahaha, the wiring is kind of a mess I want to rebuild it when I have time, yesterday I was looking for diagrams to wire up the switch that I showed you and I found one that works:
