Just curious has anyone checked to see what their mileage has changed when they change the pulley.

Default 55 Tooth Rear, Pulley Gearing Option

[url]http://www.hmhd.com/ Then do a search for Sportster Rear Pulley (use search box).

It's a bit expensive because you have to replace the drive belt also, you are dropping the diameter of the rear pulley and the 128 tooth is too long and must be replaced with a 125 tooth belt. Is it worth it, if you got the cash it is, would I do it again? .. you betcha, the ride is just too superior.
The option to a rear 55 tooth is a 32 tooth front. No belt change required, but there is modification to the pulley cover required.

I have a 30 tooth front. Made a nice difference on the highway. Can't comment about power loss as I'm 90cid.

I don’t think it works like that. You will get up to speed faster but the rpm to speed factor isn’t going to change unless the gearing is changed.

I went up 2 teeth from stock on the front pulley and down 2 on the rear. It has made it feel less buzzy out on the highway. My top speed has actually decreased because the engine can’t pull the bike to redline in top gear, but top speed in 4th gear and down has increased, it pulls easily to redline from 1st-4th, so 5th is like an overdrive now. When passing cars, trucks etc out on the highway I usually downshift 1 gear sometimes 2 depending on how fast I need to get around them. Riding slow in first gear requires a lot of clutch work now. I also fitted the heavy duty screamineagle clutch spring. Seems to be holding up so far.
