Default What trick for rear head?

I'm installing a Hammer performance kit, how do I remove the rear rocker box cover without dropping the engine?

TIA
Tony

Very carefully. It will come out, you just have to find the sweet spot. Get all your bolts out, lift up and toward the rear a little if I recall correctly.

you will need to go diagonally to finally get it out. it will come, but it's a pain. the reason they're 3 peice, is they must be taken apart, top middle, then finally bottom.

I found on my 06 there is a sweet spot like what Mototscooter mentioned. I spent what seemed like hours trying to get mine off until I somehow hit that spot and it all but fell out and I just barely caught it before it hit the floor. Going on is slightly harder.

Also be careful that you don't accidently damage the gasket surface when you get frustrated and start yanking on it ... Or am I the only one that does that???

Ok, thank you guys for the input, I did get it off and in the process of pulling the heads now, after a few choice words and some band aids!!!
