Did you have manual compression releases installed in the heads? I have read that it is a good idea to have them and/or that they are not necessary, so I’m not really sure. Are 1200 heads preferred over the 883 heads if one were to have a choice?

Yes I Manual . Heads well I couldn’t tell you. I know the Xb heads are what was the best head at the time for my 1250 build. Compression release I don’t run them never looked into them. I think one of the more experienced guys could give you a better answer. I bought my heads from Hammer . I believe the are 06 or 07 1200 heads with BFH head work. If I had to guess I would say 1200 head because there is less material to be removed. My xb heads I also bought from Hammer they have crush head work. It was only 400. For the set but also add in head work so it was like 1250.00

I have 210-212 cranking psi on my 1275. Never considered compression releases. No problem starting.

Thanks seajay. How well does your RB Racing 2-1 pipe perform and sound with your combination? Any video clips available?
