reduced resistance can be caused by structural damage inside battery. think vibration.

it was lead acid batt, bout 18mo old, see thru case
one cell would turn brown recently after running
was one @ + post
readin bout that led me to think overcharging
bike showed no probs, other than hi vm readings at speed
if the batt hadnt been see thru, ida been blissfully ignorant...
have sealed [agm? - not sure how to tell] batt now
vm hits 15+v at bout 6000rpm now
lights have never "flash bulbed" on it, have seen that happen on more than one ol mopar tho
will try post 13 tests again, and did fix up reg mount while i was there
batt box n reg mount were not flat on rubber mounts
thx, dr.

seems you may have diagnosed yourself.
your taking your vm with you on rides?
grease the battery terms to keep oxygen off. make sure battery vent is clear, and ride on for now.
the best diagnosticians feel something is wrong in their gut, then hawkeye every mile/km until the bike better directs them.

and you wont: you have a giant electrical seawall, a battery.
it keeps surf on the seaward side.
battery bikes and mag bike are two different creatures just because of that battery.
there is no seawall on mag bikes, so thier problems and solutions are also different.
