For some time I have used only AGM for all applications (truck, travel trailers, etc)

They are more expensive, but have many benefits, including

longer life
vibration resistant
truly maintenance free
no acid spills from a lay-down

Price is what drives my choice as well. I buy lead acid EverStart batteries at Walmart for my toys including an ATV a Waverunner and 3 bikes for around $50 each. I keep them constantly connected to maintainers and check/ add water twice a year. When I start to notice a battery isn't holding a charge like it should I replace it. Typically around 5 years.
