schaffersshovel is an unknown quantity at this point
Default 1988 106 inch build ( agent orange )

Taking what was a 96 inch to 106 , long rod motor with race peeped std heads, axtell 3 13/16 cylinders , JE Pistons from axtell with Baisley 30 degree piston chambers matched to heads, cams are my issue because I have to many to chose from, I have red shift .723 , Andrews .500 lift I believe n8 or v8 , and I have 1 set each of the Edelbrock cams ,,,again not sure of numbers on them but believe 1 set is .590 lift and other is .600 lift, are the red shifts streetsble ? And I was thinking about maybe try say the 2 exhaust cams from 1 set and intakes from another with the Edelbrocks , any one run these Edelbrocks ?

RS 723 and Andrews V8 are different animals. (very different).
It depends many on the cc of the combustion chambers volume.
Probably with 723 you can run 12:1 compression (not with Andrews V8).
All (most all of) is the intake closing event.
So the edelbrock cams are totally out of range because they close the intake valve only 38 (if I correct remember) degrees .

I used edelbrock .590 lift cams when my bike was 1200 . Too prone to pinging/detonation.

If you need .650"+ lift but more streetable duration than RedShift 723V2 you can also consider RS625V2 and S&S 1:1.725 rockers. Then you will have .663" lift @ valve. Consider beehive springs to lessen the load on the lifters. And chose quality lifters, S&S lifters are strong.

I'm no expert, but will the clutch assembly of a 4 speed sportster handle this?
