Default Alarm for Siren

I got great deal on a NOS alarm for my 05 883 (pn 68393-05), and I understand that I need to pair it with a siren.

What have you guys used? I see a few options from HD-SecuritySirens.com, and some direct from HD, what is the general concensus?

Why do you need to pair it to a siren? Why do you even need it at all? UK rubbermounts (at least) came stock with the security system, but not a siren.

If you actually want a siren, that's another matter.

Of course I don't need one, but after living in london for a few years, I've found that a siren stops people from messing with your bike, especially if they bump or knock it.

My bike is a US model that did not come with the siren

Ah, got you. I would probably look first at the H-D siren that's meant for the bike, but no doubt others are cheaper (if not 'plug and play').

I have a H-D unit on my Electra-Glide. Plug in installation, and beeps when I use the key fob. to lock/unlock. Has a built in siren that will get your attention.

I’m looking at the HD unit and can’t find installation instructions for the XL anywhere!

Every other bike is listed but no XL, particularly 05 model year. If anybody has seen one please let me know. Been searching through the forum and haven’t seen it

The accessory sirens for the '04 - '06 Sportsters were # 68352-04A for USA models, and # 68319-04 for International models. I'm afraid that it looks like they aren't available anymore.

I ordered up one of the HD security sirens for ~$30, that should work for me. I was able to find some installation info in the FSM. I'm surprised they get into accessories in the book!
