One of the many things that attracted me to the Roadster, the speedo has a very cool tach.

I'm coming from the opposite direction. I want to get a new (2016-up) Roadster and I'd like to put a separate speedo and tach on it. I prefer having two separate analog style instruments. My research hasn't been all that thorough; but everything I've seen leads me to believe that it isn't possible.

Is it possible? Does anybody know how to achieve this?

If you get just a speedo (2017-later is CANBus) you can add a triggered tachometer by tapping into the BCM-to-Coil trigger signal.

Even if you have the dual speedo/tach, if having a separate tach to look at is important, you can add one that is triggered off the coil as above.
