Good luck on your impending conversion, I've got 800 miles now on mine and the bike runs superbly.

Question if I cure the engine side covers in an oven after painting them with VHT Cermaic Hi-Temp header paint what are the chances they will warp if I follow VHT's 3 step curing process

250* for 30 minutes
cool for 30 minutes
400* for 30 minutes
cool for 30 minutes
650* for 30 minutes

Side cases have been cleaned down to the bare aluminium using aircraft paint stripper

Mike
They shouldn't warp at those temps and times. There would be miniscule possibility of heat treating it as well, too short of time. To get the best results, before painting now that your parts are clean, I'd recommend baking it at that 650 for 30 minutes and then cleaning it real good again to get all the oil and gunk out of the aluminum.

People powder coat those covers all the time. That's usually about 400F for 30min give or take.
