So, I don't think the Sportster is exit. Maybe they're going 4 valves and maybe partial cooling with small radiators. Modified to meet standards, but not a complete new engine.

I've been hearing about how Harley has no choice but to change because of: emissions, it's an old design, it needs water cooling, it needs, etc, etc, etc for the entire time I've been riding them (40+ years) from all kinds of sources, including an article in Easyriders magazine back in 80 or 81.

It hasn't happened yet. Yes, they've made changes to the product (not all of them good, IMO), but the bikes keep improving overall. (At least when the bean counters don't have too much influence).

I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch over what may be coming. Who knows; it might be a better bike for what I want. If not, there's a shitload of used Roadsters out there; I can buy one of them.

Nope. He compares to a v rod and Dyna?
Sportsters are iconic and they will make them
as long as they keep selling them.

Since it's emissions, every one is focusing on, I would suspect a top end change similar to an M-8. Other than that, the Sportster will survive here in the USA and probably be sold as a "specialty bike" Internationally. All the parts will probably be available...forever.

they need a lesson from rice
the ace 1100
a little more refining in design to hide water cooling
oil cooling is viable also, one of my thumpers used the frame as a heat sink
