Arrow Memory Highway

Yesterday, one of my "sponsor/sponsees called me up and said "lets ride". We went for a 125 mile putt, and I realized I was taking him on an old "bar-hoppin' route". We stopped for Iced coffee at one place and pulled into friend's place several miles later. I talked a lot about all the "Drunken adventures" I had participated in, along this route. It sure seemed like it was a lot of fun, back then. It's funny how you seem to remember mostly the Good Times, but "I" remember the consequences, too! One thing I took note on was all the nice scenery between the little towns.
You see, riding in North Dakota, the distance between bars in small towns is 25-40 miles of barren, wide-open plains with only a sprinkling of houses or farm buildings and a few trees. You break down or crash and it can be hours before you see anyone, but there is something really serene about it all.
It's good to go down the Memory Highway, once in awhile. Keeps you sober and is always good for a few laughs!
