Default Fuel pump replacement

I hosed up my original equipment pump (cracked the plastic)
Purchased a Quantum pump online. Now I am dealing with the electrical connectors to the fuel pump. I have some connectors that will fit onto the prongs of the pump. But I have to stop and take "safety" into concern.
Does anyone feel the way that I do reguarding to not having the exact electrical connection for the pump?
I have contacted quantum about the connector but it will take up to 24 hours to hear back from them.
Thanks in advance, nativebroncofan

Can you post a pic of the the terminals on the pump? Are they male spades terminals? If so, perhaps you could purchase female spade connectors, solder them onto the factory wiring and then plug them onto the terminals on the fuel pump. I would recommend using heat shrink on any soldered connectors to keep them individually isolated, so that they don't short out.

Getting a slder iron in there would be tough better than trying to crimp in that small area though.

This might work, but you will have to cut off the factory connector from your bike's wiring harness and then solder of crimp these into the factory wires and plug them onto the fuel pump spade connectors.

If for some reason the female spade connectors that I posted the link to won't fit into the plastic housing on the new fuel pump, you might have to carefully cut out the plastic on either side of the housing. Leaving the center divider in place will prevent any short circuits.

These are my connectors the middle one should do.

the jumper wire on the orange wire will have to spliced in above the spade terminal.

I just had an idea
I've just cut the factory terminals in half to allow less re-wireing work. Now to see if my stock of heat shrink tubing is still viable.

Did you cut off the factory female spade just before the wiring, so that you could insert the rest of it into the new female spade connector that you are going to use? That might work. Then all you need is a crimping tool (or solder and soldering iron for best connection).

Yes, I cut the spade down in half to be able to use one half for the connection.
