IDK if this would be possible since i'm not able to mount myself an engine...

interesting by the way

at the moment things run like this
Or
- from Milan they share the expense of such a sudden massive failure without an apparent reason, on a stock bike of 2 y.o.
Or
- i leave her to them selling her like a wreck... obviously for them is more cheaper to fix overtime such a failure and then re-sell like a 2 y.o. well maintained bike

WOAH, crap, I'm just catching up on this. Sorry to hear.

Not sure what else to say except it's total crap that they wouldn't allow an extended warranty (I wonder if you had purchased one at time of initial purchase if it would have been away around the mileage - i.e. if they didn't have a limit on it then).

And I do think you make a good argument for a good will repair.

Ugh.

Madonna, that is damage is extensive! Effectively a new engine plus rebuild costs etc. My guess is HD will offer you a deal on another ride.

Ugh.
if i remember well...
the extended warranty was issued by Deutsche Bank in joint venture with HD... having signed her since from the outset would have changed nothing...
i.e. if you roll more than 15k kms a year they cover the expenses of a potential failure only with 1k euros for each failure... as to say it doesn't worth to sign a thing so designed...

also in my case they knew exactly it was better so... curious my engine blew up without reason (dealer's mechs words) after little more than two years...

in addition have to be said that her since from km zero had a certain oil consumption (around a quart every 2.5k kms)...

they did
but
conditions of the deal were at the moment not attractive to me... since the cost was well more than the cost of the repair...

another issue was to explain that to my wife and also to my old father...
they had not a passion for HD like i have...
they said together...
"what kind of bike you have bought?
weren't you the guy who knew about bikes...???
you have spent more than 11k euros and had choosen the bike you wanted... you always passed with her most of your spare time... cared her like another wife... and also bought for her many expensive goodies...
and now... just after two years... without a crash or without a drop you came home saying she blew up... now is a wreck... and to get fixed it will costs like buy another!!!"

I am really sorry. Your family are right that this shouldn't happen, so lets hope HD do the decent thing and help you out.
It may be better for HD to offer another machine rather than commit the dealer to a full engine rebuild. Let's hope the
deal offered to you after the good will review will be more attractive.

like i said to the dealer...
(many thanks to him that strongly is supporting me with the good will procedure)...
i'm an HD customer since 2001... after an happening like that a share on the expenses or a good deal on another bike... will make me think to be part and to be cared by a strong customer system... and to have choose the right brand during all this years.... and not feeling to be a guy stranded on his own when things start to go on the wrong side...
